Thinking Skills is an innovative new curriculum for year 7s which provides students with the opportunity to engage in fun and interactive lessons as well as learning how to be better learners! They complete half-termly units in the following SCRIPT (thinking skills) areas:
Speakers and Performers
Creative Learners
Reflective Learners
Independent Enquirers
Philosophers and Critical Thinkers
Team Players and Leaders
Students also learn about the seven ‘HOTSTAR’ habits of a successful student:
Healthy
Organised
Takes responsibility
Sticks at it
Takes pride in work
Answers in full sentences

All of the above skills and habits provide Greenford High School students with the necessary thinking skills and habits to be successful life-long learners. Our students have the opportunity to develop their thinking skills and habits in all subjects as well as tutor-time during active and interesting lessons. Your son/daughter will gain critical thinking skills and will take part in survival scenarios to save the planet, plan a Summer-fete, deliver presentations, participate in Philosophy for Children sessions and learn how to lead and be part of a successful team.
