From the Headteacher

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to all of the students who supported and attended our open evening, and I hope any parents who may have attended with younger siblings enjoyed the evening too.

We have had an incredibly successful return to school, with students making the right choices consistently. It has been a pleasure to walk around site and observe such focus and determination for learning.

A reminder that this Tuesday (23rd September), we have our Year 8 Information Evening and we look forward to welcoming all Year 8 parents to this important event. The start time is at 5:30pm in the school hall.  See you all there.

Behaviour System - 25/26

I am really excited to present to you our behaviour changes for this academic year. We are striving to ensure high expectations and to instil a personal responsibility within our young people. In our classrooms, we will now follow the 4 Cs system. An image of this can be seen below and you will notice our teaching staff will always allow students a chance and a choice in their lessons to display a positive attitude to learning.

This new system has been explained in tutor time and there will be further assemblies on this to ensure our students understand and engage positively with the change. You can support us by ensuring your child is ready for learning with their equipment and uniform so they have positive exchanges at the start of every day and lesson. There have also been amendments to our behaviour thresholds and report card system so we can support our students if they are receiving a certain number of behaviour points.

We hope our young people have a positive, hard-working, and diligent attitude towards their learning at the start of this academic year and thank you for your support - in advance.

Assistant Headteacher

Supporting your child.....

This week we are looking at how you can support your child to be resilient. We know parenting can be hard and returning to school after a long time can be challenging for many.

One way we can succeed, is to build resilience and push through when children want to give up!

See below tips on how you can support your child build their resilience (one of our character strengths).

Getting off to a great start....

As the new year begins, we are so proud of how our students have started the year.

Our year 10s in assembly, listening attentively as they hear about the year ahead and year 7s, line up beautifully, getting ready for learning.

Year 7s get active, building strong friendships and leadership skills:

As part of our new enrichment programme, year 7s are taking part in lunchtime activities, from skipping and football to board games and dancing.
