From the Headteacher

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to our first edition of ‘Parent Connect’, a short newsletter that we will aim to send out each fortnight with key bits of information we hope you will find useful.

We have had a wonderful start to the year, with excellent attendance, behaviour and attitudes displayed by our students. Our push on improved uniform and punctuality has been really noticeable - hardly any students have come into school with incorrect items, and students’ punctuality to lessons is already much improved.  A reminder that students should aim to be in school by 8:20am as the Ruislip Road gate will be locked at 8:30am and the main electric gate into school will be shut shortly afterwards. Students should be in full uniform at all times and trainers are not allowed. Thank you for your support with this.

We are, of course, still celebrating our excellent examination results and watching proudly from a distance, as 5 of our students start Oxford or Cambridge universities shortly and just under 200 others head off to other, brilliant universities of their choices!

This week we have had our first round of Expectations Evenings and next week we will continue - please see key dates below. It has been lovely to see so many parents in attendance, and we look forward to seeing many more of you next week.

Post 16 Reminders

Y13 students will sit assessments in all of their A Level subjects, week commencing Monday 18th September.

Post 16 students need to be in class to adequately prepare for the demands of their courses. Therefore, any student in P16 that is late to lessons (or tutor time) 3 times in a week will receive a 1 hour detention on a Friday.

All students have been reminded about bursary applications via Google Classroom.

If you have any queries, please contact Ms Haines (Year 12) on chaines@greenford.ealing.sch.uk or Ms Westcott (Year 13) on hwestcott@greenford.ealing.sch.uk in the first instance.

KS4 Reminders

Selected Year 11 students will start our ‘Studio 11’ programme the week commencing Monday 25th September.

Year 11 assessment week will be the week commencing Monday 2nd October.

Our internal Post-16 open evening will be coming up soon. More details to follow.

At home, students should be working on past Maths papers from www.mathsgenie.co.uk  and reading as much as possible for English.

KS3 Reminders

Please remind your children to pack bags the night before, taking out items they don't need that day. This avoids making their bags heavy.

Each day students should bring in pens, pencils, a rubber, a sharpener, maths set, scientific calculator, reading book and planners.

Students should check their Google classroom,  and Satchel One (Show My Homework) every evening.

Look out for the KS3 newsletter which will have more information on clubs, once these have been set up.
