A very warm welcome to our new Year 7 and Year 12 students, as well as all the families joining our school community this term! Our Year 7 cohort has hit the ground running, showing fantastic enthusiasm as they learn the ropes and adapt so smoothly to our daily routines. Meanwhile, our new Year 12s have already built strong connections and boosted their confidence following a fantastic team-building day together. Both year groups have made an outstanding start to the academic year, and we are excited to see them flourish, grow, and make the most of the wonderful opportunities ahead.

We are very excited to share some really positive news about our results this Summer!

We are celebrating our best ever Post 16 results. This is the culmination of a number of years of work around culture, systems and tweaking our programmes of study and this has resulted in exceptional outcomes across all the key thresholds.

Across our Post 16 courses, A level and BTEC qualifications, just under half of all the grades were awarded at the very top end, A*-A or D*-D. Here are some other key results from our A Level results this Summer:

• 33% of all grades were A*-A.

• 60% of all grades were A*-B

• 85% of all grades were A*-C.

This has enabled 232 students to go onto University to study an array of courses, including Medicine/Dentistry, Computing, Engineering, Economics, Finance etc. The outstanding results have also supported a number of students to progress onto degree apprenticeships. 

We have achieved some exceptional results in many subjects, including almost 50% of our 100 A-level Maths students achieving A* or A, along with 71% achieving the top grades in Further Maths. 40% of grades were awarded at  A* or A in Computing and In Economics as well as 42% of grades awarded at A*or A in History. Over a third of grades in Physics were A*or A.

At GCSE, we also saw some great successes, with nearly 70% of the cohort achieving passes in both English and Maths. We also achieved strong results in the Separate Sciences, with 100% of the students achieving good passes and two thirds of the cohort achieving top-end grades. We saw similar results in Computer Science and Economics, where a third of the students achieved the top end grades (9–7).

Greenford High School is committed to being ambitious for all. Every student, regardless of their starting point, is supported to achieve outstanding results and aim for top post-16 pathways (universities/apprenticeships). We need our community to support us. Please talk to your child about their ambitions for the future and also how important it is to work towards these goals every day – consistency is the key!

Extra-Curricular Clubs Update

Our P.E. extracurricular clubs have officially kicked off this week! Students can check the current sports timetable outside the PE office or on their year group noticeboards. A full schedule of additional clubs across all other subject departments will launch next week, so encourage your child to get involved and try something new.
