From the Headteacher

Dear Parents and Carers,

A reminder that next week we have our Year 6 Open Evening on Thursday 5th October. As is usual for this event, students will be sent home early at 1:30pm, to enable staff to set up and get ready.  Thank you to all parents and carers who are allowing their children to support during the evening. We always have wonderful ambassadors for our school within our own student community, and I know they will make us very proud once again!

A reminder that we also have an INSET day on Friday 6th October, so the school will be closed to students on that day. We will return as normal to full school days as from Monday 9th October.

Fantastic Enrichment Opportunities at GHS!

We are well known for our huge range of extra-curricular activities  and have already started the term with lots of opportunities for students. Highlights include our Year 7 author visit, our Year 13 Geography trip to Cromer, our Year 11  trip to Juniper Hall and our Post 16 DT trip to Brompton Bike Factory. We have also hosted our annual Media Awards Evening, which was full of glitz, glamour and celebration!

No nuts in school please

A reminder that a number of our students have nut allergies. We therefore ask all parents and carers to ensure that their children do not bring nuts into school. Please also remind your child that if they buy products in the shops before school, to please not buy snacks that include nuts.  Many thanks for your co-operation in this important matter.

Huge Congratulations to Superstar Double Race Runner!

We are immensely proud of Year 11 student Harjot Summan, who completed not one, but two races last weekend - one in Ealing and the other one in Westminster.

We are always thrilled to hear about students' achievements outside of school, so if you do have anything to share, please let your child's Year Leader know, so we can celebrate with them in school.

Well done to Harjot!
