From the Headteacher
Dear Parents and Carers,![](/_site/data/files/images/parent-connect/08EBA72FBD3206505D1E8A166101BE65.jpg)
I hope everyone had a wonderful festive break. I'm pleased to say that students have settled back in very well and are working hard in lessons. We have a number of events that have already taken place and more that are coming up - please check the calendar carefully.
There are some reports outside of school asking what secondary schools' stances are regarding student discussions over conflicts in the world. Our stance here at GHS remains the same as it always has, which is that, as a place of learning, students are, of course, allowed to ask questions and discuss topics about conflicts sensitively and respectfully. Students have been reminded of this in assemblies and tutor time. Parents who have any questions about this should contact their child's Year Leader, or Mrs Pye.
Finally, can I please remind parents that it is unhelpful to drop off your child near the Lady Margaret Road entrance either by using the access road at the back of the shops, or the access road in front of the shops. It is very busy in this area with students coming and going, and additional cars make the situation less safe for students.
Thank you for your support in this matter.
