From the Headteacher

Dear Parents and Carers,

We continue to be as busy as ever with lots of events inside and outside of school. Do look out for our end of term 'Community Connect' in a couple of weeks time which will provide a round up of lots of the great things that have been happening at GHS this term.

We are pleased that the vast majority of our students continue to make the right choices with punctuality to lessons much improved, and lateness to school also excellent in most cases.  Please continue to reinforce the need for 100% attendance where possible, especially in Year 11 and Year 13 as we move towards examinations.

We are looking forward to seeing as many parents as possible on Raising Achievement Day and information is being sent out about this shortly.

We are aware that many students are fasting as it is the month of Ramadan. We have prayer rooms available for students at this important time.

Mrs Pye

What is coming up in school over the next few weeks...

As we head towards the end of holidays, we are focused on Achievement and setting targets for the Summer Term. We have 2 big days coming up:

1) Year 11 Mock Results Day, Thursday 21st March - this is when all of Year 11 will receive their Mock Results, coming together in the hall, just like they will when it comes to their actual results day in August this year. This will then be followed by sessions with key members of staff to talk about next steps, and how best to use the last few months before the exams start in May. We wish all of Year 11 the best of luck on the day!

2) Raising Achievement Day, Thursday 28th March - this is when we invite all parents/carers in to meet with their child's tutor, or a member of the pastoral team, to see how they are doing, and to set targets for the rest of the year. More details about the day and how to make an appointment will follow very soon. We look forward to seeing you on the day.

Welcome to our Parent Ambassadors!

My name is Jawahir Roble, I have recently been appointed as the new Parental Ambassador at Greenford High School.  With a background in Youth & Community Work, my dedication lies in supporting young individuals through their challenges and nurturing their personal development to fulfil their achievements. I am keen to work in collaboration with parents, caregivers, and the community to ensure that every voice is valued and all needs are addressed at Greenford High School.

My name is Monika Sierkowska, and I have been working at Greenford High School for almost 7 years, in SEN and Inclusion. In September 2023, I became a Parental Ambassador, actively engaging with parents and carers in order to facilitate effective communication between home and school. Additionally, I have been arranging and providing support to ensure our students achieve best possible outcomes and have positive educational experiences.

Raising money for Red Nose Day

Our Post-16 students have been busy raising money for Red Nose Day, selling noses and badges to staff and students across the school. Thank you for giving up your time to think about others less fortunate than yourselves. Good luck!
