From the Headteacher

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope everyone had a lovely half term and that the students who are sitting exams are beginning to feel that the end is in sight.  We have a number of exciting events coming up - please do check the calendar.

We are at the time of year where we are planning for next year, and staff are busy considering what we can do to improve.  Some of our new staff who we have appointed will be key to this, and I am pleased to say that we are fully staffed with excellent teachers for next year.  We also welcome Mr Balu, our new Deputy Headteacher who has started last week and who you can find more details about below.

PC Sub Vin, our new Safer Schools Officer

And, here is PC Sub Vin, our new Safer Schools Officer, who has also recently joined the school. He will be based with us on Tuesdays and will be working with the school in different ways. Welcome, Sub!

News from the Safer Schools Officers Team

In addition to PC Sub Vin joining us, we have also had a couple of publications sent through to us by our local Safer Schools Officer Team to send out to parents and carers. These are not to alarm our community, but instead to help families support their children to keep safe and know how to look after themselves, as well as be mindful of the signs to be aware of, if you have any concerns at all.

The publications contain information about  exploitation and county lines, and the link can be found here. Both the Pastoral Team and the Child Protection Team are here to help you if you have any queries or concerns.

Geography Trip to Marnham Fields Many thanks to the Geography Department who took our Year 10 Geographers out for the day for their Geography course, looking at local flora and fauna. The sun may not have been shining, but it didn't rain and the students were excellent, both on the trip and in extending their amazing geographical knowledge. Well done to all who took part in the trip!

Greenford High School Alumni Network

We have recently launched our GHS Alumni Network to reach out to our former students - if you have older children who attended the school and would like to join, or you came to Greenford, please look at the details below and join up!

Greenford High School is very proud of the thousands of former students that have gone on to live productive lives and contribute to society. From eminent neuroscientist Geoffrey Burnstock, who attended Greenford County Grammar during the second world war, Premier League star Bukayo Saka to professional cricketer Naomi Dattani, it means something special to have attended Greenford High School.

Join our Future First alumni network

We are calling on all former Greenford students to sign up to our new alumni network with national education charity Future First.

This is an opportunity for former Greenford students to network, keep in touch with the Greenford community and pay it forward by helping our current students progress to the next stage in their education or career. Indeed, your experiences since leaving could help to motivate and inspire our current students to feel more confident in making decisions about their future.

You can choose how and when you help – perhaps you can act as a career and education role model, provide work experience, become a mentor in person or online, or even apply to become a governor.

It doesn’t matter when you left us, whether you’re in further education or employment, whether you still live nearby or have moved further away, there are still ways you can help.

In order to sign up, just follow this link and fill in the online form – we promise it will only take a couple of minutes: https://www.futurefirsthub.org.uk/register/greenford-high-sch

Who Should I Contact if I Need Help?

If you have a problem you need to discuss about your child, please contact your child's Head of Year.

Safeguarding and Child Protection

Our designated Safeguarding Lead is Ms Nayyar (front right). She can be contacted on gnayyar@greenford.ealing.sch.uk.

Other members of the team include Mrs Grimley (far left), Ms Adhami (second left), Ms Thomas (front centre) and Ms Sierkowska (back right)
