Remote Education

Where remote learning is needed, we use 2 systems:

  1. Google Classroom:
Each student has access to their Google Classroom, where teachers post relevant assignments, resources, and feedback. Students should regularly check their Google Classroom to stay updated on their work.
  2. Oak National Academy:
For additional structured lessons and resources, students can use the Oak National Academy, a trusted online platform offering free, high-quality lessons aligned with the national curriculum.

Timing suggestions for remote learning

We advise that students follow their school timetable for lessons to access. Timings of the school day are:

Period 1 – 08.55 – 09.45

Period 2 – 09.45 – 10.35

Break – 10.35 – 11.00

Period 3 – 11.00-11.50

Period 4 – 11.50 -12.40

Lunch – 12.40 – 13.20

Period 5 – 13.20 – 14.10

Period 6 – 14.10 – 15.00.

Remote Learning should not be used as an alternative to coming into school, but may need to be used in situations such as a suspension.  In this case, this would be directed by the school. Students may also wish to ‘top up’ their learning using the resources outlined above as additional learning outside of school hours, in their own time.
