Dear Parents and Carers,

We regret to inform you that the Work Experience Information Evening scheduled for Tuesday 23^rd June 3:30pm-4:15pm has been cancelled.

Due to the excessive heat and current weather warnings, we have made this decision to prioritize the health and safety of our families, students, and staff.

Please do not travel to the school this evening.

We know how important this information is for your child's upcoming placement so have created some guidance to support your child.

Please see attached the Slides and Work Experience Booklet. We will post the slides and Booklet on Satchel One as well as provide students with a hard copy to refer to.

Please spend a few minutes looking through the above with your child, in particular the section about punctuality and attendance:

When a student is absent from their work experience placement, both the parent and student have specific responsibilities to ensure the employer and the school are notified.

Lateness needs to be reported directly to the employer immediately. 

Absences need to be reported promptly: both school and employer need to be notified at the start of the day, clearly stating the reasons for missing work experience. 

Standard school procedure for reporting absences must be followed: call or email before 8:35am by calling 0208 578 9152 or emailing  attendance@greenford.ealing.sch.uk 

Parents need to call both the employer and the school on each day of absence.

Greenford High School will send out a text reminder to parents each morning during Work Experience week, to remind them to report absences.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this sudden change may cause and greatly appreciate your understanding.
