Greenford holds Higher Education Fair

Greenford High School held a successful Higher Education Fair on Friday 19 April.

The event saw 40 universities and employers visit the school to provide guidance and inspiration for our Year 12 students as they begin to plan their post-Greenford futures.

Guests from blue chip companies BP and EY included former Greenford students returning to fire the imagination of the next generation.

Year 12 student Muhammed said: “I loved it. There were a wide range of universities and apprenticeships and I got a lot of information. To be honest, I wasn’t thinking about going to university but this has really opened my eyes to what I could do.”

Fellow Year 12 student Cassius agreed: “I came here not really knowing what I wanted to look into and was quite oblivious to the universities around the country. I had a few ideas about what I wanted to study and I found a university perfectly tailored for what I wanted to look into and that really surprised me and made me feel confident about what I can do with my future.”

Greenford Careers Leader Will Halsey said: “We are incredibly grateful to all our visiting universities, companies and apprenticeship providers for giving up their time to inspire our students.

“It was particularly pleasing to hear feedback from so many of our visitors about how polite, well-researched and ambitious our students were. They were a credit to the school.”
