SEN

At Greenford High School, we aim to establish an environment in which learning flourishes and the potential of every individual is realised. Students are encouraged to succeed by the positive and supportive ethos of the school and as well as by strong links with the home, feeder schools and relevant agencies.

We aim to stimulate effort and maintain motivation through high expectations and by celebrating success so that students will become confident achievers who are able to participate fully in the life of the school as well as in the wider community. Where students require additional support in order to meet these goals we firmly believe in doing everything we can to ensure students can access their learning and thrive in lessons.

Special Educational Needs

The department for education recognises four types of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), in the SEND Code of Practice 2014:

  1. Communication and Interaction
  2. Cognition and Learning
  3. Social, Mental and Emotional Health
  4. Sensory or Physical

At Greenford High School we support students with every type of need and we aim for all of our students to make good progress and have the skills they need to progress into adulthood.
